Hey guys! I’m an audio engineer based in Cincinnati, Ohio. I was born and raised in Fairfield, a small town north of Cincinnati. I started taking lessons learning to play drums when I was 12 years old. Shortly after, I started studying bass and then finally guitar, studying under blues guitarist, Sonny Moorman and later on under Phil Willis at CCM. I started playing professionally in High School with the band Skyferd Lake, now known as MOMENT 44. My musical background is what sparked my interest in audio engineering.
Later on, I was accepted into the College Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati where I earned two degrees- one in Commercial Music Production, with a focus on Guitar Performance, and one In Electronic Media. I left MOMENT 44 to focus on college and my development as a musician. Through CCM I was able to build a stronger foundation in the art of recording and mixing as well as in writing and producing music.
I worked my way through college, I always had a gig. I was recording clients, friends, and anyone I could convince to let me record them. I still had my PA from the band and I was running sound for my friends’ bands and events I was a part of. It wasn’t long before I started getting calls, and getting asked to work with some amazing people.
When I was 18 I got my first sound “job” at Cedar Fair’s Kings Island as a Show Technician. As a new hire I was a bit more ahead of the curve than most of the employees in the park, which presented itself as a good opportunity to show those around me what I know and what I was capable of.
Shortly there after, I was hired as an Audio Engineer for the Cincinnati Parks Board where I had the chance to work with national acts and label-affiliated artist and to learn and work under Nick Radina, a well established professional live sound engineer. I also worked at Gwynne Sounds, formerly known as Sound Images, under Adam Pleiman (Grammy nominated engineer), and The Monastery, under Ric Hordinski (worked with The National, Venus Hum, and Ben Laps). I’ve learned a lot from these amazing mentors that I’ve had the opportunity to work with.
So now, I’m working as an Audio Engineer in Cincinnati. I still work with my mentors for larger projects. I’ve received a new job at Kings Island, designing sound systems, and training show techs. I still work with Cincinnati Parks facilitating large concerts and events in several parks. I’ve had the opportunity to work with some amazing artist like Judah and The Lion, AJR, Olivia Millerschin, Paul Whitacre, and Bryard Huggins. I help give artist the extra boost their performances, their records, and their music needs to be ready for everyone to hear.
